The Ty Newydd Hotel Country Hotel, Nr Aberdare
- Hotel Star Rating: 3 stars
The Ty Newydd Country Hotel is a 3 Star Country Hotel set at the end of a lengthy drive off the A4059 on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and has everything you have been looking for - tranquillity, comfort, excellent food and some of the most beautiful scenery in Wales right on its doorstep.
Whatever your plans: a long stay to discover the beauty of the Brecon Beacons, a romantic weekend, a well-deserved break from the nine-to-five or a meeting or conference that needs to run like clockwork, we can promise you the warm welcome and service you expect from a privately run hotel.
The original house was build by the coal baron, William Llewellyn, the uncle of the legendary Olympic show jumping champion Sir Harry Llewellyn, who trained his horse Foxhunter here. Today the Ty Newydd Country Hotel provides every modern convenience for today's discerning tourist or business traveller, whilst retaining the character and style of a fine Georgian country house.
The 28 en-suite bedrooms are complemented by the elegant Foxhunter Suite with its adjoining Olympic Bar; a particularly popular choice for weddings and banquets, the George Restaurant, serving freshly prepared locally sourced food, the residents bar with three quarter height oak panelling and residents lounge with an open fireplace and adjoining art gallery featuring local artists.
