Royal Porthcawl Golf Course

Royal Porthcawl is entitled to be included in the category of the top golf courses of the world. It has a long and distinguished history and has hosted most of the prestigious events.
The first three holes that run alongside the sea can be a hideous challenge. In fact there is no hiding place throughout, with the sea (and accompanying breeze) in view from all 18 holes.

It is by no means a course of fearsome length; it doesn’t have fancy lighthouse, high dunes or deep ditches. It doesn’t even have a tree. But it is a true links challenge that has been lengthened to counter today’s advances in technology.

It deserves the accolade of host to the 2014 Seniors Open Championship and perhaps one day host to The Open Championship itself?
