Button Course - Cottrell Park Golf Club
The Button Gwinnett course is named after the Button family who resided at Cottrell Park during the 17th Century. Button Gwinnett, was one of the fifty-six men who assembled at Philadelphia in 1776 to sign the American Declaration of Independence, thus becoming one of America’s immortals, whilst one of his forefathers, Admiral Sir Thomas Button, charted the American north west coast, where he named New Wales, Hopes Checked, Port Nelson, and Button Island.
The course continues to mature and tests the short game of the best of golfers. The first few holes lull you into a false sense of security. As you progress and loosen up, the course in turn toughens and tightens up, presenting challenges that can ruin what was a very good looking card!
