THE COURSE AT WOODLAKE Park is set in 140 acres of rural Monmouthshire and was laid out in 1992 by the current owners, the Wood family. It overlooks the 434-acre Llandegfedd Reservoir, a site of special scientific interest and a popular recreational lake. All the holes are named after waterfowl that have been seen on the reservoir, with the osprey being the rarest bird that visits the water. The course enjoys superb views including the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. Woodlake Park is a good test of golf; with a par of 71 and a standard scratch score of 72 for men and 73 for ladies. It is renowned for being one of the most challenging courses in the area, with the first six holes providing a particularly demanding start. Although in general there is plenty of room for wayward shots, approaches to greens are easier from the perfectly placed shots. As a breeze is often up, it has been described as an “inland links”. Woodlake Park hosted a Euro-Pro Tour Event in 2002, and has been the venue for numerous County and Welsh Golf Union events. We hope you enjoy your golf at the course and the warm welcome in the clubhouse.
