Aberdare Golf Club was founded in 1921 as a parkland course at Abernant, which is about a mile from the town centre of Aberdare. This picturesque course is famous for its mature oak trees and was also the home club to one of Britain’s most famous golfers Mr. Dai Rees, who was former Ryder Cup Captain. Dai Rees’ father was the club professional from 1938 to 1953 and his mother was the stewardess of the club. Aberdare was the place Dai Rees received his first golf lesson. Aberdare Golf Course can be testing for some golfers and it is certainly a very interesting and challenging course to play, so if you have the chance to play you will find it’s a surprisingly beautiful course. Today the club acts as host to a variety of golfing societies and visitors who come to play the course. The club is always trying to attract more people to play on the course and there are a variety of different views available for golfers to look at. The course is 5875 yard long, with par 69 and SSS 69. Lessons are available with our professional Mr. A Palmer. Full bar and catering facilities available.
